Ethiopia’ll Be Tough, Moses Warns Eagles
Super Eagles’ winger, Victor Moses has warned his teammates preparing in Abuja for the World Cup playoff against Ethiopia that they should not expect the Waylas Antelopes to be easy prey when both teams clash in Addis Ababa on Sunday.
The on-loan Liverpool of England star said that he expects the Eagles to be professionals in the crucial match as the Ethiopians will want to employ all tactics to scare the team at home.
“This match will no doubt be a tough one because we are meeting the Ethiopians at home. But I believe that the Nigerian team parades players who are professionals who should know what to do in this situation. We knew the Ethiopians because we played them at the last Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa. So whatever tactics they want to employ, we must beat them and secure the three points in this match so that the work will be easier for us when they come to Nigeria for the second leg,” Moses said.
Meanwhile, Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi is expected to join the Eagles today after a flight hitch.
Team official Dayo Enebi Achor told MTNFootball.com that the player had a slight flight hitch and was expected in the camp today.
At least 18 players trained on the refurbished Abuja National Stadium yesterday.
The players are goalkeepers Vincent Enyeama, Austin Ejide and Chigozie Agbim, and three strikers, Ahmed Musa, Obinna Nsofor and Uche Nwofor.
Others include defenders Elderson Echiejile, Francis Benjamin, Efe Ambrose, Solomon Kwambe, Godfrey Oboabona, Azubuike Egwuekwe and James Okwuosa, and Midfielders Mikel Obi, John Ogu, Ogenyi Onazi, Sunday Mba and Nnamdi Oduamadi.
