‘Unforgivable’, ‘Cobweb’ Lead BON Awards Nominations

With eleven nominations, Dayo Amusa’s latest movie, Unforgivable, tops this year’s Best of Nollywood Awards nominees’ list released last week.

According to the report of the awards’ screening committee made available to P.M.NEWS Showbiz Trends, Unforgivable, starring a constellation of actors like Mike Ezuruonye; Desmond Elliot, who also doubles as director; Bukky Wright and Iyabo Ojo among others, scored nominations in the “Best Actor in A Leading Role in A Yoruba Movie”; “Best Actress in A Leading Role in A Yoruba Movie”; “Best Child Actor”; “Movie With The Best Social Message”; “Best Kiss in A Movie” and “Best Make Up in A Movie” categories. The movie also has nominations in “The Onga Best Use of Nigerian in A Movie”; “Best Edited Movie”; “Best Cinematography”; “Best Director” and “Best Movie of The Year”.

Movies like Cobweb; Confusion Na Wa; Turning Point; On Bended Knees and Torn also put up impressive showings with multiple nominations. Award-winning Kannywood actor, Ali Nuhu, might return to his winning ways if he clinches the “Best Actor Hausa”.

Funso Adeolu in Cobweb,  O.C Ukeje in Alan Poza, Seun Akindele in On Bended Knees, Bayo Alawiye in Dark Secret and Bloosom Chukwujekwu  in Finding Mercy are in contention for the awards’ gong in “Best Actor In Leading Role In An English Movie” category.

In all, 35 awards are up for grabs while a Special Recognition Award endowed by the Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, would be bestowed on Pete Edochie and Lanre Hassan, the ageless actress popularly known as Iya Awero.

This year’s BON Awards hold in Asaba, Delta State in November.
