The U-20 Women national team, Falconets, will now play their Sierra Leonean counterparts in the first round of the African qualifying race for next year’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup finals in Canada.
This, according to a letter from the Confederation of African Football, CAF is as a result of the withdrawal of Burkina Faso from the race to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014.
The Falconets, who are already in a screening camp in Abuja, will host the first leg at the National Stadium, Abuja on 26 October before flying to Freetown for the second leg, which comes up on 9 November.
Already, CAF has appointed Dayves Ross Leopoldina from Guinea Bissau as Referee for the match, with her compatriots Amancio Biague Deolinda and Gomes Mariza Antonio as Assistants Referees 1 and 2 respectively. Fadouma Dia from Senegal will be Reserve Referee and Ghanaian Helena Williams is the Match Commissioner.
