Ethiopia: We Don’t Fear Nigeria
A member of Walya Antelope of Ethiopia,Asrat Megersa, a defensive midfielder who plies his trade with Walia Ibex Football Club of of Isreal is a man with a mission as he prepares to help the defence to stop the likes of Nigerian stars Victor Moses and Ahmed Musa on Sunday in the 2014 FIFA World Cup final round qualifier sheduled for Addis Ababa.
The tall gangly player insists its Ethiopia’s time to shine as he promises the Nigerian forwards a tough time.
Megersa who has been an integral part of coach Sewnet Bishaw’s plans since the start of the World Cup qualifiers anticipates a win for Walia despite the difficult task ahead.
“I have reached a time in my career that I feel things have really worked well. A few years ago no one would have imagined we would be in the spot we are now but the dream is finally coming to fruition. It has not been an easy road but determination, hard work and self belief have helped the team to forge ahead with a winning spirit.”
“Personally I am more than delighted and despite calls from many people about the toughness of the Nigeria game I feel no pressure at all as they are just normal players like we are.
