Amosun appoints new chief of staff

The Government of the western Nigerian state of Ogun today announced the appointment of Professor Ganiyu Olatunji Olatunde, 57, as the new Chief of Staff to Governor Ibikunle Amosun.

The new Chief of Staff is a Professor of Entomology and was at various
times the Acting Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the
Osun State University, Osogbo in the State of Osun, Southwest,
Nigeria.

Prof. Olatunde, who hails from Ikenne in Ikenne local government area
of Ogun State has spent over 24 years in the academics and has over 40
publications to his credit.

In a release signed by the Secretary to the State Government,
Taiwo Adeoluwa today, copy of which was made available to our
correspondent in Abeokuta, the new Chief of Staff will be sworn in
tomorrow, Friday 25 October, 2013 at the Executive Council Chambers,
Office of the Governor, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta at 9:00 am in the morning.

The statement further stated that he has a Doctorate (PhD) and Master
of Science (M.Sc.) in
Agriculture and Agricultural Biology from the University of Ibadan
respectively. He also has a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in
Zoology from the University of Lagos .

He replaced Ambassador Emmanuel Ogunnaike who was appointed earlier by the governor but resigned not too long after his appointment.
