Leading telecommunications operator, Globacom, has enjoined the Golden Eaglets to ensure total victory over Iraq as both sides clash in their last Group F game in Dubai on Friday.
The Eaglets, who fought out a draw against Sweden during the group game played on Tuesday, leads their group ahead of the Swedes on superior goals scored, although both have four points each after two rounds of matches.
“In the light of the hard-fought battle by the Eaglets in the match with Sweden, we maintain our belief that they can go all the way in the competition”, Globacom said in a statement released in Lagos on Thursday.
“We urge the team to remain focused especially now that the stakes are getting higher. The technical crew should devise means to neutralize the Iraqis, notwithstanding the fact that the Asian nation is already out of the competition”, the statement said.
“We also believe that the Eaglets are champions and should not spare any effort in driving this fact home”, the company added.
The telecommunications company commended the Nigeria Football Federation for the great motivation it has given to the Eaglets and their coaches, saying the team deserved adequate reward for their efforts to make Nigeria proud.
“We call on Nigerians not to waver in their support and prayers until the Eaglets win the trophy”, the statement further said.
Globacom is the major partner of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, and the official telecommunications sponsor of Nigeria’s national teams.
