Lagos Shuts Hospitals Over Untrained Personnel

A Lagos lawyer, Barrister Olufemi Ogundele, has been found dead in his apartment at Ejigbo, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.

The incident happened at 17, Saka Street Ejigbo, Lagos where he lived alone.

The late Ogundele graduated from  Ahmadu Bello University, ABU, Zaria in 1991 and went to the Nigeria Law School in 1992 and started practicing as lawyer after that.

His corpse has been deposited at the Isolo General Hospital mortuary for autopsy report.

Neighbours said a day before he was found dead, he went to work and came back without any sign of being sick.

Some said he might have been sick without informing anybody about the illness.

“We saw him at a popular bar in the area where he usually went to have some drinks and returned to his house the day he died,” a resident said.

When P M NEWS visited his residence, some of the residents expressed shock over his death and prayed that Almighty God should grant him mercy and give his family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Some of his colleagues expressed shock over his death. They described the late Ogundele as an erudite lawyer who believed in the rule of law.

Barrister Sherry Omobaba while paying her tribute, described Femi, as he was popularly called, as a humble and honest man who knew and understood the rudiments of law practice.

She said his colleagues will surely miss him.

Another lawyer, Barrister Asian also expressed shock and described the late Ogundele, as a committed lawyer who practiced law with serious commitment, honesty and diligence.

He prayed that God should grant him mercy and console his family he left behind.

His landlord said he was a good tenant who lived peacefully with his neighbors and promptly paid his rent.

The late Ogudele hailed from Kara State, northcentral Nigeria.
