Don’t Play Individual Game, Obuh Advises Eaglets

Flying Eagles coach John Obuh: Faces sack.

Former Flying Eagles Coach, John Obuh has advised members of Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets not to play individual game against defending champions, Mexico when both clash this evening in the final of FIFA U- 17 World Cup taking place in United Arab Emirate, UAE.

To reach the final stage, the three time champions, Nigeria defeated debutant, Sweden 3-0 while North America side, Mexico humbled their opponents, Argentina the same scoreline.

Speaking on Naija info radio, Obuh said it will be a very dangerous if players play individual game instead of playing collectively as a team. He said most of the countries that won trophies at the previous international FIFA organised competitions played as a team and determination.

“The final of any competition is a different ball game and I want Eaglets to see this final against Mexico as very important in their football career. They should all go out to play as a team not individual so that they can achieve good result at the end of the day,” he said.

The former Sharks FC gaffer warned the Eaglets not to be complacent against Mexico and approached the game with all seriousness.

After beating Mexico 6-1 in the opening group stage, Obuh said Eaglets need to double their effort if they want to beat defending champions again.
