President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday decorated his Aide De Camp (ADC), Ojogbane Adegbe with his new rank of Colonel in the Nigerian Army at a ceremont witnessed by service chiefs.
While speaking after the event held at presidential villa, Abuja President Jonathan said the new rank is a call for higher responsibility for the military officer.
“To wear a rank is very prestigious. When you are given higher authority you are expected to perform more,” said Jonathan.
He added that ADC has to step up whatever he has been doing very well and even do more while wishing him success in his career.
The President who recalled that he was once an officer of Nigeria Customs Service said getting promoted is one of the happiest things that can happen to any man in uniform.
Colonel Adegbe who thanked the President for personally taking charge of the decoration told reporters after the ceremony that his promotion was due to grace of God.
