We Need Nigerians’ Support —Mba

Nigeria’s midfielder Sunday Mba

The Super Eagles of Nigeria’s midfielder, Sunday Mba, has said that what they need is Nigerians’ support in their second leg World Cup playoff against Ethiopia this weekend in Calabar, Cross River State.

He said that the players are ready for the game, adding that the fans should be prepared to encourage them while on the pitch. “The fans keep the players playing with their full support, I think this is what Nigerians have to do for us on Saturday to boost the players’ moral for the team to achieve the desire result at the end of the match,” Mba said.

“Nigerians’ support is very important and I believe they will come out to support us, because this is a World Cup playoff and we have to qualify by winning the match on Saturday,’’ he said.

“Saturday’s match against Ethiopia is very important not only to the players, but all Nigerians. Though we won by 2-1 in the first leg in Addis Ababa, we should not relax on it because the Ethiopians will be out to stop us. We need the support of Nigerians and as they support us, we won’t let them down. By the grace of God, we will win the match,” he added.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles and AC Milan’s attacking midfielder, Nnamdi Oduamadi said they have to qualify for the Brazil 2014 World Cup by winning the second leg of the playoff in Calabar on Saturday.

“We have to play a good game for us to win the match against Ethiopia on Saturday. Securing the ticket is a must for us to get to the World Cup. This in our homeland and we have to give Nigerians the best of the match which is victory,” he said.
