Glo X-Factor finalist Pheel has released his new single, Ibiri.
The new work, according to the singer, was inspired by the late Highlife King Oliver De Coque’s track Ibiri Kam Biri (Live and Let Live).
Pheel, who emerged the fourth at the recently concluded Globacom-sponsored singing reality TV show, fuses highlife and contemporary pop to create a catchy dancehall tune.
Pundits say Ibiri has the potential to rule the air waves and is sure to get the listener dancing.
During the reality show, Pheel wowed viewers at the last man standing. So good was his voice and stage performance that many had tipped him to win the show which was held in Africa for the first time.
Though he did not eventually win the contest, the talented singer has shown he is determined to make a career in music.
Pheel whose full name is Philip Otuya is 26 years old and hails from Kwale, Delta State. He studied industrial relations and personnel management at the University of Lagos and lives in Isolo, Lagos.
