Sambo arrives Kuwait for Africa-Arab summit

VP Sambo: PDP will reclaim Osun and Ekiti states

Nigeria’s Vice-President Namadi Sambo on Sunday arrived Kuwait City, the capital of the oil rich country of Kuwait to attend the 3rd Africa-Arab Summit.

A statement in Abuja said that Sambo arrived Kuwait City from Colombo, the Sri-Lankan capital, where he stood in for President Goodluck Jonathan at the 2013 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

The statement said that the vice-president was received by the Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait, Sheik Nawaf Ali-Jaber Al-Sabahat at the Amir Terminal of Kuwait International Airport.

Sambo, who was being accompanied on the trip by top government functionaries, including the Supervising Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prof. Viola Onwuliri, would be representing President Goodluck Jonathan at the two-day Summit.

The statement said that the Africa-Arab Summit with the theme “Partners in Development and Investment’’, would focus mainly on trade and investment issues that would impact positively on the peoples of the two regions.

It said that after about three decades of lull, the Summit was revived on Oct. 10, 2010 with the 2nd Summit, which held in Sirte, Libya.
