Nigeria’s Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, has redeployed five assistant inspectors-general of police (AIGs) and two commissioners of police for what he called “effective crime fighting”.

Disclosing this in a statement, police spokesman, Frank Mba, stated that the officers redeployed include former Anambra Commissioner of Police, AIG Ballah M. Nasarawa, who was recently promoted Assistant Inspector-General of Police. He is now AIG in charge of Zone 9, in Umuahia, covering Abia, Imo, Enugu and Anambra state commands.

AIG David Omojola is now in charge of Zone 11, comprising Osun, Oyo and Ondo states. AIG Tambari Yabo Mohammed is now in charge of Zone 1 in Kano, comprising Jigawa, Katsina and Kano states.
