Earl Klugh, Hugh Masekela For Bayelsa Jazz Festival

All is set to host a galaxy of stars led by legendary jazz musicians, Hugh Masekela and Earl Klugh, at the inaugural edition of Bayelsa International Jazz Festival holding on Saturday 7 December at the Gloryland Cultural Centre and Peace Park in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

The festival, which kicked off officially on 4 December, with master classes and trainings, and a jam/performance session later tonight, will climax with main the performance on Saturday.

It will parade many  seasoned home-based and international musicians including Femi Kuti, Lekan Babalola, Gangbe Brass Band and  Inspiro’s NAIJAZZ Allstars Band.

According to Mrs. Ebizi Ndiomu-Brown, Director General, Bayelsa State Tourism Development Agency, the distinction in the programming for the Bayelsa International Jazz festival is not only the calibre  of musicians performing but also the seasoned resource team gathered for the capacity building sessions that include award winners in journalism, tourism and arts/culture.

Expected to be in attendance are Benson Idonije, Jazz critic; Tam Fiofori, ace photographer, James Agama, leading brand specialist; Toyin Akinosho, CORA Secretary General; Muyiwa Moyela, Public Relations  and culture advocate, and a host of leaders in the arts and culture circuit.

Musicians like Hugh Masekela, Femi Kuti, Bright Gain, Adetayo Adedeji and others will be conducting classes on trumpet, guitar, drums, keyboard and others for young and aspiring musicians.

The Bayelsa International Jazz festival is organised by the Bayelsa State Government through the Bayelsa State Tourism Development Agency and powered by Inspiro Productions Ltd.
