Lagos PDP throws governorship race open

The Lagos State chapter of Nigeria’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has thrown its governorship race open, assuring potential aspirants of the party a level playing ground in choosing its candidate for the 2015 election.
The state chairman of the party, Captain Tunji Shelle, who said this at the kick-off of the party’s unity consolidation tour held in Eti-Osa Local Government Area, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, called on members interested in any political offices, including governorship, to send their letters of intention to the party secretariat.
Shelle who expressed delight that the PDP is now united, stressed the need for all to work together in the interest of the party.
He said that the party’s door is open to all aspirants willing to contest any position as the PDP was set to produce the next governor of the state.
“We are more united now and nothing ıs stopping us again come next elections.”
“Members interested in political offices should therefore make formal applications to the state secretariat and we assure you that all forms wıll be treated the same way” Shelle said.
He urged the members to emulate the Leaders and remain steadfast.
He also appealed to the members to contribute their quota by gıvıng more support to the Federal Government.
“Government ıs a collective effort. We must all support the federal government to continue wıth the good works ıts doing for Nigeria” he added.
