Nigeria arrests 4 Chadians on alleged robbery mission

A police patrol team attached to Ikoyi Division has arrested four Chadians along Lugard Avenue, Ikoyi, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, while they were allegedly going for a robbery operation.

According to the state Police Command Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, the suspects identified as Ibrahim Abba, Ibrahim Solu, Rafiu Guja and Hassan Abba were arrested at about 2 a.m. early this week.

The suspects said to be Shuwa Arabs from Chad Republic, also claimed to be security guards in various homes in Ikoyi.

They were in a Honda Accord saloon car with registration number FV 846 LSR, when the police patrol team intercepted them.

Braide in the statement said “on searching the vehicle, one dagger, one cutlass, two saw blades, three pliers, three fez caps, four ropes and assorted charms were recovered from them.”

She said the suspects confessed they were going for a robbery operation in Ikoyi area.

“Effort is on to arrest other gang members. The case is under investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti,Yaba,” Braide said.
