Chairman of Media and Publicity Committee of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Emeka Inyama has said that there is no way a foreign technical assistant will be employed to assist the Chief Coach of the Super Eagles as the country prepares for the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup.

“To put the record straight, we cannot afford a foreign technical assistant for Coach Keshi now. There is nothing like that in the plans of the football federation and I want to say that it can’t be true. How can we make a move to get someone to boss Keshi at this point in time?” said Inyama on Brila FM early today.

Meanwhile, a member of the Technical Committee of the NFF, Paul Bassey, however, disclosed that instead of getting a foreign technical assistant for Keshi, the NFF will get a local assistant for the coach, but ruled out a recall of sacked Slyvanus Okpala who was relieved of his job as Keshi’s assistant because of indiscipline after the Super Eagles won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa last year.

“Okpala remains sacked, even if we’ll get a local assistant for Keshi,” said Bassey. “He was sacked for indiscipline. Unfortunately he hasn’t shown any remorse or apologised for his action. Though we are looking at getting a local assistant for Keshi, it won’t be Okpala,” said spokesman of the NFF Technical Committee.
