In spite of many controversies that trailed its production and post-production, Mahuru, the long-awaited Yoruba epic movie, has finally been released on DVD.

The movie, shot in three states, Oyo, Ekiti and Ogun, is from the stable of Integrity Productions.

It parades the best of Yoruba actors including Faithia Balogun, Moji Olaiya, Taiwo Hassan (Ogogo) and Ebun Oloyede (Olaiya Igwe).

It also have as cast Mr. Latin, Aina Gold, Bayo Bankole (Boy Alinco), Bukola Fagbuyi, Yemi Odunodu, Peter Fatomilola and Wale Adebayo (Sango).

The storyline centres around key issues like greed, parental disobedience and the abuse of parents on the rights of children in choosing their partners.

Speaking with P.M.NEWS Entertainment Cafe, Busayo Odu, the executive producer of the movie said Mahuru gulped over N6million and its final cut shows a testimony that Nollywood and the Yoruba movie industry has come of age.

The film has already won both local and international awards including the “Best Indigenous Yoruba Movie” and “Best Child Actor” at the 2011 and 2013 editions of ZAFAA in London.

Mahuru is marketed and distributed in Nigeria by a leading mobile marketing firm, Integrity Productions and Mobile Marketing Ltd.
