Omotola Sizzles In 'Blood In The Lagoon'

Nollywood sweetheart, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, is set to dazzle movie fans as Tropical Gem Studios announced the release of Teco Benson’s Blood In The Lagoon on screens nationwide soon, Omotola’s first movie since she was named  one of TIME 100 Most Influential People In The World.

The new film, which has already been named one of the films to watch out for in 2014 by Nollywood Reinvented, is an emotionally charged and thought-provoking movie that is expected to keep viewers glued to their seat till the very end.

•OmotolaSet against the backdrop of dichotomies surrounding the Lagos lifestyle, the film centres around George Dibiya (Okey Uzoeshi), born into abject poverty and thrust deep into the drudgery fate has dealt him.

Just like thousands in the many slums of Nigeria, George’s life story is already written and sealed by fate, even before he came into the world. He ekes out a living in the treacherous murky waters of the waste deluged Lagos lagoon. And this is not of his making.

The chances of getting any education and, maybe clawing his way out of the situation are zero. But after the murder of his brother, George sets out not to allow his brother’s dream die. Along the way, he gets entangled with the stunningly beautiful Scarlet (Omotola).

Blood in the Lagoon also features other notable actors including Eddie Ugboma, Akin Lewis and Ufuoma Ejenebor.

Founded in June 2002 by Jerry Padney, in the United States, Tropical Gem Studios has developed into an operation with a talented and innovative team of specialists. It has produced several independent films, television programmes and music videos.
