Flamingoes forward, Chiwendu Ihezuo has assured that Nigeria will achieve a goal feast against Colombia in Thursday’s second group game in Alajuela at the ongoing FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.

The Nigerians stunned China 2-1 on Sunday and will face the South Americans at the Alejandra Morera Soto Stadium, Alajuela in their concerted bid to secure the second victory at the global cadet championship.

Ihezuo said her teammates are ready to secure an outright victory against the Colombians. “Nigerians should expect goal feast against Colombia. We’re fully prepared to win big in the encounter,” she assured.

An apologetic striker admitted her performance in the opening game against China was poor but promised to improve against Colombia.

The Pelican Stars goal poacher blamed the injury she picked against China including some of her teammates on the extreme tightness of their shin-guard which resulted to severe pain on her muscle.

“I wasn’t in the game against China but I want to make up for the shortcomings against Colombia.

“I had a muscle pull in the game which I blamed on the shin-guard we wore as it was too tight,” explained the captain of the side.

Chiwendu assured further their determination to bring the trophy back home to Nigeria when the championship comes to an end on 4 April.

Victory against Colombia will fetch the Nigerians the group’s ticket to the knockout stage irrespective of the outcome of the last group game against Mexico on Sunday.
