Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Member representing Lagos Central Senatorial District at the Senate; Chief Molade Okoya-Thomas, Chairman, CFAO; Mr. Tunji Bello, Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Mr. Olawale Osun, a chieftain of All Progressives’ Congress (APC) in Lagos Mainland are among dignitaries expected to grace this Sunday’s launch of Ope Mi Re (My Appreciation), the maiden album of budding Islamic gospel singer and leader of Alasela Voice of Islam, Hajia Kafayat Olajumoke Ajibola.

The event is slated for National Youth Council Centre, Akinwumi Street, Alagomeji, Yaba, Lagos.

A banker, Alasela began a career in Islamic music two years ago having been discovered and encouraged by a radio presenter who was compere at a youth programme organised by NASFAT in Ekiti State.

According to the 29-year old Osun State-born singer, she thereafter began to attend similar programmes, watching performances of established Muslim and non-Muslim artistes on stage before heading for the studio to produce the album.

Others expected at the event include Al-Khaleefat Ibrahim Ahmad Gbodofu, the Fakharu Shababi-I-Ceodi Riyah Worldwide as guest lecturer; the Chairman, Yaba Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Mr. Olajide Jimoh; Alhaji Sabit Owowumi Mohammed Awwal, the Chief Imam of Lagos Mainland Central Mosque; member representing Yaba Constituency 2 in the Lagos House of Assembly, Mr. Moshood Olanrewaju Osun; a prominent Lagos businessman, Basorun Dauda Babatunde Ajaga and an aide of Environment Commissioner on Sanitation, Alhaji Ibrahim Alao Megida, among others.
