World No. 5 Roger Federer crashed out of the ATP Miami Masters tournament on Wednesday, losing 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 in the quarter-finals to Japanese 20th seed Kei Nishikori.
Nishikori blasted six aces and won 64 percent of his first serve points against Federer in the two hour and eight minute match on the hardcourts at Crandon Park.
Nishikori advances to the semi-finals where he will face three-time Miami champ Novak Djokovic, who dismissed Britain’s Andy Murray in two straight sets, 7-5, 6-3.
