Adeniji emerges chairman of Ogun state APC

Mr. Roqeeb Adeniji has emerged as the new chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun state, western Nigeria.

He was overwhelmingly elected at the party’s much more attended congress at the Kuto Cultural Centre in Abeokuta.

Officials of the party from the National headquarters and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) attended the congress as observers.

Amosun in his opening address expressed optimism that the exercise would create an enabling platform for the party to be united.

He appealed to all members to sacrifice personal interest for the overall interest of the party. “We must learn to give and take in order to be united. The task to move our party forward in this state is a collective responsibility,’’ he added.

Roqeeb Adeniji, who emerged as the Chairman at the congress promised to ensure that all aggrieved members were reconciled for the progress of the party.

He solicited the cooperation of members to ensure that the party emerged victorious at the 2015 general elections in the state.

Meanwhile, Dickson Atiba, leader of INEC delegation said the commission had observed the proceedings at the M.K.O Abiola Stadium and would forward its report to the national headquarters.

He however denied knowledge of any other congress.
