Gido Vader, International Relations Manager, Feyenoord Rotterdam Club Netherland, on Tuesday said that the club would continue to partner NNPC/Shell to contribute to the development of football in Nigeria.

Vader who said this in Lagos explained that the club was committed to improving the standard of football globally through development seminars for coaches and players.

He said that Feyenoord Rotterdam was famous, especially for its youth sports development and has been consistently chosen as the best youth developing academy in the Netherlands in the last four years.

“We are looking for ways to contribute to the progress of football and the partnership with NNPC/SHELL could afford us the opportunity to make a huge contribution.

“We will be looking at ways of organising programmes that will develop both coaches and players,” he said.

Vader stated that Nigeria had abundant talents who could turn out to be international stars if well developed.

Feyenoord organised three coaching sessions for coaches and students of the four schools at the recently concluded NNPC/SHELL Cup/All Nigeria Secondary Schools Football Championship.

The schools were Brightville College, Ibadan, Government Model Secondary School, Kontagora, Saint Thomas Basic Secondary School, Benin, and Usman Dangogo Secondary School, Bongudu, Zamfara.

Saint Thomas Basic Secondary School, Benin, won Gold, Brightville College, Ibadan, won Silver, while Government Model Secondary School, Kontagora, clinched the Bronze.
