Adamawa APC installs first female party chairman

Mrs Binta Masi,made history on Wednesday as she was elected the chairman of the Adamawa chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Mari, therefore, became the first female to occupy such position in the party.

NAN reports that Masi, a former member of the House of Representatives, was endorsed at the rescheduled state congress of the party following the withdrawal of two of her opponents.

Meanwhile, voting was ongoing for other positions following the inability of the delegates to reach consensus.

The positions included that of party Secretary, Publicity Secretary and Legal Adviser.

Gov Murtala Nyako had on Tuesday appealed to party supporters to vote Masi as party chairman describing her as capable and competent.
