Lt. Way Olabisi, Spokesman, Western Naval Command, Lagos, has said that the navy was investigating the cause of a fire incident that killed two children of a naval rating.

Olabisi told NAN in an interview on Tuesday in Lagos that the death of the two children at Navy Town, Ojo, was caused by a fire that destroyed their apartment.

NAN reports that a naval rating, simply identified as Udofia, lost two of his children, Emmanuela and Michael, aged 18 months old and five years old, respectively to fire on Saturday.

He denied speculations by members of the public that a naval officer had allegedly killed his children by setting his home on fire.
