IG not on retirement leave – Frank Mba

The Police High Command has denied reports that the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar had been asked to proceed on pre-retirement leave.

A statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Frank Mba,issued in Abuja on Thursday said Abubakar was “fully on his desk”.

The Police High Command had not received any official communication from appropriate government quarters informing the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Mohammed Abubakar of retirement from the force,” the statement read.

Mba said Mohammed has continued “to performed his duty as the 16th indigenous IGP”.
