The Federal Government has pledged to bear the hospital bills of victims of Tuesday’s twin bomb explosions in Jos.

A statement by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), signed by Mr Sani Datti, Senior Information Officer, quoted its Director-General, Alhaji Muhammad Sani-Sidi, as saying that emergency rescue operations had also been concluded at the scene of the blasts.

The statement issued on Thursday in Abuja said that NEMA had completed evacuation of people affected by the explosions.

It said that Sani-Sidi had directed the NEMA zonal office in Jos to immediately conduct an assessment of the situation for appropriate relief supports from the government.

Sani-Sidi was in Plateau to convey the sympathy of the federal government to the government and people of the state, especially the injured persons and the bereaved families.

On 20 May, two bomb blasts rocked the Terminus Market in Jos. The twin blast occurred within 14 minutes interval, killing more than 118 persons and injuring over 100 others.
