Team Lagos are on the verge of emerging the overall champions of the ongoing South West Secondary School Games tagged DAWN Games.
On the medal table released by the Technical Sub Committee last night, Team Lagos are leading the table with 16 gold, 9 silver and 6 bronze medals. Ekiti State occupied the second position with 4 gold, 4 silver and 9 bronze medals.
Team Ogun have garnered 1 gold, 2 silver and 10 bronze medals to occupy third position on the log table, while Oyo State have 6 silver and 4 bronze medals to place fourth.
Osun State are last on the table with 1 silver and 1 bronze medal. Events such as football, track and field, taekwondo finals will be decided this afternoon at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
Meanwhile, Team Lagos won the medals at stake in the basketball events in both boys and girls categories. In the finals decided at Rowe Park Sports Complex, Yaba, Lagos beat Ogun 73 to 33 in the boys’ final, while Lagos beat Oyo 24 to 22 points in the girls’ final
