After the success of his last U.K single Bubugaga (Remix), which got a four-star rating from the Daily Mirror UK and a great review in Nigeria media, Port Harcourt boy, Mr 2Kay is back with another single titled Summer Girl (Samba).
The fast rising Grafton Records star’s new single is an electrifying sound fused with Afro-pop.
“This new song will definitely get you feeling like you are at the peak of summer which is not far away. The lyrical content of the track and the fusion of sounds make it a track to definitely make you anticipate the forthcoming summer,” a statement from his management reads.
Mr. 2Kay who was named by Nigerian Entertainment Today as one of the acts to look out for in 2014 hooked up again with British Afrobeat producer, Ozzie of Triple O Productions, for the second time to deliver Summer Girl.
The song has been enjoying massive downloads and rotations on many Nigerian radio stations.
It is also now receiving special play on BBC 1Xtra, Capital Xtra, Bang radio, Represent Radio and a few more stations in London.
Mr. 2kay is not new to the UK Afro scene as his previous single got playlisted on Kiss FM, Capital Xtra and many more stations across the UK and made it to the weekend anthem on BBC 1xtra.
Summer Girl is expected to be released officially in the UK on 27 July.
