Chief Dan Orbih, Chairman PDP Edo state, has advised traditional rulers in the state to refrain from partisan politics.

He gave the advice on Saturday at a sensitisation rally at Ubiaja in Esan South East Local Government Area of the state.

Orbih, who urged monarchs not to engage in partisan politics, advised them to concentrate on their traditional roles.

“Traditional rulers have no business with those who defect from one party to another.

“But sadly in Edo, we have a situation where traditional rulers gather in Government House in the name of meetings and condemn defectors in front of the governor,” he said.

The chairman, however, assured the gathering that a PDP government in the state would revive sports in order to provide jobs for youths.

NAN reports that no fewer than 5,000 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) defected to the PDP at the occasion.
