The Gombe Government said it would use the Children Day celebration to pray for the release of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls and others killed at the Federal Government College Buni-Yadi, Yobe.

The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Hajiya Fatima Abubakar, who made this known to journalists in Gombe on Monday, said the children would gather at the stadium to offer prayers.

Ababukar said the state government cancelled the fanfare associated with the Children’s Day celebration because of the security challenges in the North-East.
