Robbers Kill Whistle Blower
A man in his late 40s has been killed in Lagos, Western Nigeria by armed robbers.
The man identified as Alhaji Bashiru, was killed at his residence in Kano street, Ebute-Metta, about 5am, Thursday, while trying to alert the neighbourhood of the arrival of the armed robbers who invaded the area.
A source who simply identified himself as Solomon, informed P.M. News that the man was preparing for the early morning Muslim prayer when the armed robbers arrived the community.
And in an attempt to alert the neighbourhood of the arrival of the unwanted guests, he was shot. His neighbours quickly rushed him to Feferal Medical Centre at Nigerian Railway Corporation, Ebute-Metta but he died on his way to the hospital.
The source further said that after shooting the man, the suspected armed robbers raided about four buildings and went away with properties worth millions of naira.
It was also gathered, though not confirmed at the time of filing this report, that four members of the armed gang have been arrested and currently detained at Denton Police Station.
