We need moral rejuvenation through books – Tambuwal
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal on Saturday called for the publication of more books that would contribute to moral rejuvenation in the country.
Tambuwal said this in Sokoto at the launch of a book written on the District Head of Yabo, Alhaji Muhammadu Maiturare II.
The book entitled, “Kyakkyawar Safiya,” was authored by a Producer with the Sokoto State Television, Malami Torankawa.
“We have a lot to learn from the lives and times of our past and living leaders, at all levels.

“Books written on them are a veritable tool of keeping such histories, with a view to learning from them and improve our present day society,” Tambuwal said.
He was represented at the occasion by the Speaker of Sokoto State House of Assembly, Alhaji Lawalli Zayyana.
Tambuwal described the District Head of Yabo as humane, God-fearing, dedicated and humble.
In his speech, Governor Aliyu Wamakko called on the various levels of government in the country to invest in the provision of quality education to the citizenry.
“Education is the bedrock of any development and we cannot even effectively worship God without education,” the governor said in a message delivered by the state Commissioner for Water Resources, Alhaji Shehu Dalhatu.
In his address, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, represented by the Galadiman Gari, Alhaji Aliyu Attahiru underscored the need to chronicle the lives and times of the nation’s leaders.
Chief Launcher, Alhaji Faruk Malami commended the author for his efforts, saying,”the book chronicles the history of Yabo Emirate”.
The Author, Malami Torankawa said he wrote the book as part of his contribution to the educational development of the country.
NAN reports that over N8.16 million was realised at the event, with the Chief Launcher and Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Alhaji Faruk Malami donating N1 million.
Tambuwal also made a donation of N 1 million while the state government donated N 1.5 million.
