Folarin Falana, one of Nigeria’s fastest rising music sensation, better known as Falz, has released his much anticipated debut album, Wazup Guy, with a well-attended official launch and concert in Lagos last weekend.
Held at the classy Ember Creek, Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, Falz, backed by a live band, presented and performed to the distinguished guests some of the hits in the 19-track album.
“Wazup Guy”, released under the music label, Bahd Guy Records, is a compilation of past singles and new one, featuring Olamide, Sir Dauda, Dipo, Poe, Yemi Alade, Oyinkansola, SDC (Show Dem Camp), Phenom and Saeon.
At the event, Falz, lawyer-turned-musician showed much of his versatility and earned himself more recognition and respect with live performances of most of his hit singles such as “High Class”, “Currency”, “Toyin Tomato” and “Jessica”.
Falz, who also doubled as the CEO of Bahd Guy Records, is the only son to Femi Falana, Nigeria’s foremost lawyer cum civil rights activist.
Trained as a Barrister at the University of Reading, England, Falz joins the list of returnees who are making waves on the musical scene.
