Katsina APC wants free, fair LG election
Alhaji Mustapha Inuwa, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State, has urged the State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) to conduct free and fair local government election in the state.
The commission had announced that the election would be conducted on 2 August.
Inuwa made the call on Tuesday in Katsina after the maiden meeting of the party’s executives.
He said that the call had become necessary because free and fair election was vital to the growth of democracy.
Inuwa also urged all groups in the party to forget their differences and be united for the progress of the party in the forthcoming local government and the general elections.
The chairman said that the party would try to establish a cordial relationship with electoral bodies, security agents and the media to ensure that justice was done to whoever deserved it.
Inuwa urged members of the party to support the new party executives for the development of the party.
He also urged the party members to come out en masse to elect APC candidates during elections.
