World Cup: ‘Eagles Will Set New Record’
The General Secretary of Nigeria Football Federation, Barrister Musa Amadu, has confidently declared that the Super Eagles will set new records at the on-going FIFA World Cup.
‘‘I have the confidence that we will go ahead and create several other records in this competition, the Super Eagles have picked up in form.’’
He went further to applaud the players current form: ‘‘When the Eagles are in form, no one can stop them.’’
The General Secretary praised the resolve of the Super Eagles to approach the tournament one game at once, saying it has been working and will work well to take Nigeria far in the tournament.

According to him: ‘‘The approach of taking it one match at a time is excellent. That has worked well for us in the first two matches.’’
”It will also work for us against Argentina and take us very far in the competition,’’ Amadu said.
Working hard and playing for one another, the African champions brought to an end their nine match win-less streak at the FIFA World Cup by pipping Bosnia-Herzegovina in Cuiaba on Saturday.
Apart from the bringing the dubious record to an end, Nigeria is also the only African team to earn four points from its first two matches in Brazil.
Meanwhile, NFF’s Media Director, Ademola Olajire, has clarified the number of appearances Joseph Yobo has made for Nigeria.
There has been several figures bandied about, as the Super Eagles closes in on a record 100 caps for the country, but Olajire confirmed that the Fenerbahce is now on 98.
“The official figure we have for Yobo is 96 caps after the USA friendly in Jacksonville,” Olajire told KickOffNigeria. “He has now added two more at the World Cup. “Yobo did not play the game against Lesotho in Warri in 2007, which has been included in his appearances.”
Olajire then went on to praise Yobo’s longevity and said it is exemplary for other players coming up.
“It is not easy to get to this mark, and it is a sign of his consistent commitment that he is where he is now.”
