Nigeria’s second largest airline, Aero Contractors, said on Thursday it will divert passengers to Kaduna while the Abuja Airport remains close for maintenance.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, said on Wednesday that the runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in the country’s capial will be closed to traffic for maintenance from Saturday 5 July to Monday 7 July.
The closure of the only runway in Abuja airport means there will be no flights for three days in the Nigerian capital.
“Intending passengers to Abuja for that period may wish to consider our alternate flights to Kaduna due to its proximity to Abuja.
“We regret all inconveniences the situation may cause you. All our regular flight operations into Abuja will be resumed by Monday the 7th of July, 2014,” Aero said.
