Sir Kareem Ayinde Olomide Osoba a.k.a. Kabiyesi, Governor-General of the Lagos State chapter of the Performing Musicians/Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN), has reacted to a story published in the last Friday edition of P.M.NEWS that the umbrella body of musicians in the state is at war with the Association of Professional Drummers of Nigeria (APDON), saying that the issue is being resolved.

In a chat with P.M.NEWS Entertainment Cafe, the PMAN boss said although there was a little misunderstanding between the leadership of Ikorodu zone of his association and that of APDON resulting from a statement from APDON which PMAN purportedly did not find palatable, the matter has since being resolved amicably.

Osoba said immediately he got wind of the development, he called a meeting of his union’s executive council to find a way of resolving the issue before it further degenerated and which may affect the music industry in the state adversely.

He, however, expressed displeasure over the position of the drummers’ body on the matter.

“I want to state emphatically here that it is not right for the leadership of APDON to ask its members to boycott all shows by performing artistes. I want APDON to see itself as an integral part of PMAN and as such, cannot be in isolation of its progress,” he posited.

The top Fuji music act and former Chairman, Caretaker Committee of Fuji Musicians’ Association of Nigeria, FUMAN, added that another meeting was arranged  yesterday (Thursday) between the two parties on further discussion on the way forward.
