The All Progressives Congress, APC, has condemned an attack on two journalists working with Television Continental, TVC, by thugs belonging to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
APC described the assault by the PDP supporters as “the jackboot democracy and the closure of the democratic space against Nigerians.”
Ayodeji Moradeyo and Binafia Miebi were attacked by PDP loyalists at the secretariat of PDP in Osogbo on Thursday while on electoral duty.
”The Situation Room of the APC says that the attack is in the character of the Peoples Democratic Party a party known for violence and total disregard for the rights of human beings,” APC said.

The party said the action was a replay of the Ekiti gubernatorial election where journalists and APC party loyalists were hounded and brutalised without aggression against all known laws of the land.
“The arrest and deportation of the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation, OSBC, Press Crew Members on June 21 during Ekiti militarised and manipulated governorship election speaks volume of the erosion and aggression against the Nigerian Constitution,” APC said in a statement signed by Barr. Kunle Oyatomi, Director of Publicity, APC, Osun state.
