Heavily armed policemen on Friday raided some hotels in Osogbo, capital of Osun state, demanding from the hoteliers the identities of their lodgers.

The operation was carried out from 6:00 p.m. until late in the night. It was not clear who and what the policemen were looking for, hours to the 9 August governorship election in the state amidst claims that they had been bribed to work for Senator Iyiola Omisore, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party.

As at the time of filing this report, the policemen were still going from one hotel to another.

In each hotel, the policemen checked the rooms, whether the guests were around or not. They equally harassed both the staff and the management of the hotels they visited.

Among the hotels visited was Hotel the Charity situated at Kobo area of the town.
