Osun Assembly Majority Leader Arrested

The Osun State House of Assembly Majority Leader, Timothy Owoeye, has been arrested.

He was whisked away by armed security operatives to an unknown destination. The reason for the arrest of the All Progressives Congress, APC, member could not be ascertained.

The arrest followed the widespread arrest of APC leaders before today’s governorship election.

The state governor, Rauf Aregbesola, who had earlier voted in Ilesa, condemned the arrest of several APC leaders before today’s governorship election.

Another APC leader and former governor, Isiaka Adeleke, expressed his concerns about the intimidation of the people before today’s election.

He said armed security operatives came to his house and shot several times in the air but his men warded them off and they left after about an hour early today.
