Over the weekend, luminaries in the music, movie and media sectors thronged the Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, to honour famed DJ Jimmy Jatt as he celebrated his 25 years in the music business.
The black-tie dinner was star-studded and well attended by his friends in the industry. The event had a roll call of A-list celebrities such as 2Face Idibia, Banky W, Kate Henshaw, Tiwa Savage, Sound Sultan, Dr Sid, Lynxx, Praiz, Ebuka Obi- Uchendu, Vector, Basketmouth, Julius Agwu and Omawumi, amongst others.
The 3-in-1 event was a landmark one as it witnessed the launch of his sophomore album titled ‘The Industry’, his new book and choice performances off the album.
“I am very grateful for this moment, for the love and support from friends, industry players, the media and my fans,” DJ Jimmy Jatt said.
‘The Industry’, which has been described as “the biggest collaborative album out of Africa”, features 50 of the biggest artistes from two generations.
The album, a reflection of DJ Jimmy Jatt’s career so far, is produced by him, under a new management, GidiGroove Media.
It has 22 tracks while the online version has 23 tracks.
