Activities at the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Friday reversed to the upward trend after downturn in transactions was recorded for four consecutive days.

NAN reports that the day’s market capitalisation, which opened at N13.54 trillion, increased by 0.35 per cent or N48 billion to close at N13.59 trillion.

The All-Share Index rose by 143.13 points or 0.35 per cent to close at 41,160.62 points as against 41,017.49 points recorded on Thursday.

Lafarge Wapco led the gainers’ chart by N2 to close at N117 per share.

NNFM gained N1.11 to close at N22.05, while ETI grew by 85k to close at N17.86 per share.

Presco appreciated by 7k to close at N36 while GTBank chalked up 51k to close at N29.82 per share.

On the other hand, Nestle recorded the highest price loss, shedding N12 to close at N1,019 per share.

Total Oil trailed with a loss of N7.94 to close at N172.06 while Flour Mill dipped N3.35 to close at N64.76 per share.

Forte Oil lost N1 to close at N219, while International Breweries depreciated by 5k to close at N28.5 per share.

Ftncocoa emerged as investors’ delight, accounting for 56.76 million shares worth N29.29 million at the trading.

UBCAP exchanged 51.31 million shares valued at N111.04 million, while Access Bank sold 21.61 million shares worth N201.50 million.

Sterling Bank sold 21.29 million shares worth N46.25 million, while Zenith Bank sold 18.53 million shares valued at N450.04 million.

However, the volume of shares traded decreased by 86.42 per cent as investors exchanged a total of 306.68 million shares worth N2.73 billion in 4,407 deals.

This was against the 2.25 billion shares valued at N38.88 billion traded in 5,304 deals on Thursday.
