The final of the second edition of the Ogunnusi Unity Cup holds on Sunday September 14 at the Agege Stadium in Lagos.
From the 32 teams that started the tournament in June this year, United Stricker FC and Merciful FC will tackle each other in the final for the star prize come Sunday.
To berth in the final, United Striker FC overcame Fackson FC 2-1, while Merciful defeated FKJ United 5-4 on penalty shootout after a barren draw at the regulation time.
Also, defending champion, Wusu FC could not retain the title after been edged out in the knockout stage of the competition to make the title open to other teams.
According to the technical committee chairman of the tournament, Tayo Ige, this year witnessed huge turnout of fans to venues while the final promises to the be exciting as both teams have been boasting of their intention to cuddle the trophy alongside the N.2m star prize money.
Ige added that the tournament being sponsored by Member, House of Representatives, Yomi Ogunnusi has continued to grow yearly in Ifako/Ijaiye Federal Constituency of Lagos with more teams willing to be part of the competition.
