US teen killer escapes from prison, recaptured

A US teenager convicted of killing three other high school students escaped from prison Thursday but was captured soon thereafter, news reports said.
Thomas Lane, 19, escaped with two other inmates from the Allen Correctional Facility in Lima, Ohio, Joellen Smith, a spokeswoman for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, told NBC News.
One of the other inmates was captured, and one remains on the loose, NBC reported.
Lane is serving three life sentences for shooting and killing three boys — two aged 16 and one 17 — at an Ohio high school in 2012. Three others were wounded at the rampage in the school cafeteria.
On the day he was sentenced, Lane wore a white T-shirt will the word ‘killer” written on the front in large black capital letters. He also shouted obscenities at the court, NBC said.
CNN late Thursday broadcast file footage of Lane smiling and smirking during a court hearing.
