The body of an unidentified woman of about 30 years old was found dangling from a tree at 32, Bankole Street, Isheri, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, Friday morning.
It was apparent that the woman may have committed suicide.
A witness who refused to disclose his name said the woman used to walk around the area and was thought to be sick.
“We found her this morning hanging on a tree. We don’t know any member of her family or relatives. She used to walk around this area alone, going up and down, looking for what to eat,” the witness said.
A resident of Bankole Street who simply gave her name as Mrs. Ibukunoluwa told P.M.NEWS that she didn’t know where the woman came from and what led to her death.
She disclosed that a woman who attended the same church with the deceased identified her as a Liberian who worked in a satchet water factory in the area.
“She was single and did not have a house of her own and has no family to claim her corpse,” Mrs. Ibukunoluwa added.
Some residents of the streets are, however, of the opinion that she didn’t commit suicide but was killed and hanged by some people.
