Former governor of Ogun state and a chieftain of Labour Party in Ogun state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has let the cat out of the bag when he revealed that the party is in a frantic talk with other political parties ahead of 2015 general elections.

The former governor insisted that the slogan, ‘Amosun Must Go’ is a task that must be achieved in all ways to ensure that the incumbent governor, Ibikunle Amosun does not remain in office beyond May 29, 2015.

He re-echoed this while addressing Labour Party supporters at a rally in Ijebu Ode where all aspirants into various offices, including the House of Assembly, House of Representatives and the governorship seat gathered.

The three aspirants for the governorship seat are the former Commissioner of Information and Strategy in the State, Mr. Sina Kawonise from Ogun East, former Secretary to the State Government, SSG and two time Minister of ther Federal Republic of Nigeria, Sarafa Tunji Ishola, who hails from Ogun Central and former governorship
candidate of the defunct Peoples Party of Nigeria, PPN in 2011, Mr Gboyega Nasir Isiaka who is from Ogun West.

“As we are today, we are still Labour Party and I don’t want you to have any inkling of a sell out. I want to assure you that we will keep you posted as the events unfold. We are in talks with other political parties and our main agenga is what you people call AMG, ‘Amosun Must Go’.

“There is no going back on that, I want to appeal to citizens of this area to rally round the party to flush away the government of the All Progressives Congress, APC, it is an anti-Ijebu’s government.

He maintained that Ijebu has the potentials to be like Apapa in Lagos, adding that, his dream then before the deceptive government came into power.

“The generation yet unborn will never forgive this administration. Some of you here may not know, but our elders here can tell you, Apapa in Lagos State was like Ode Omi in Ogun Waterside before, nothing was working there. We all know what is going on there now, in terms of business and job opportunity for many teeming youths. That is the potential we have in Ijebuland which is what we planned to build in Ode Omi.

“I am not happy today; I want to assure you that when the new government under the platform of Labour Party comes into power, by the special grace of God, come May 29, 2015, we are going to continue from where we stopped in 2011. We laid a good foundation, they came and deceived you, now you can all see what they have in stock for you.

“Over three and half years now in power, what have they done to you people in Odogbolu, Ijebu North/East, even, Ijebu Ode, where they said they are constructing bridges, what is the outcome of such bridges. I have the opportunity to tell you today that, to change this government is a task that must be done,” Daniel stated.

Others who spoke at the rally posited that the future of the party will be determined by Daniel.

A member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, representing Odogbolu State Constituency, Hon. Remmy Hazzan explained the crisis brewing in the House.

The two time lawmaker, who is eyeing the Federal lawmaker seat, House of Representatives under the platform of Labour Party insisted that the money requested by the governor, though, meant for the people, still needed to be discussed thoroughly on the floor before some members hurriedly passed it.
