Nollywood actress, Nkiru Sylvanus, must possess a Midas touch which others are not taking cognizance of except Imo State governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha.

The role-interpreter has landed another juicy appointment with the state government. She has been appointed the director general of the yet-to-take off Imo Film Academy.

Okorocha made the announcement over the weekend when Nkiru led members of Imo State chapter of the Actors Guild of Nigeria to pay the governor a courtesy visit at the Government House in Owerri.

According to the governor, the coming of the academy is part of measures by the state government to promote identity and cultural heritage of the Igbo via the movie industry.

He said Nkiru is expected to bring her wealth of experience to bear in the transformation of the state’s movie industry.

The governor assured the visitors of the quick commencement of the academy while Nkiru will have oversight functions of ensuring judicious use of finance and other logistics concerning the academy.

He also made provision for office accommodation for the state chapter of the AGN within the premises of Imo College of Advanced Professional Studies, ICAPS, along Egbu Road, Owerri.

Controversial Nkiru, who initially took a break off her acting career for political appointment, recently returned to her first love and premiered her debut movie production, The Voice.
