PDP will replicate Ekiti victory in Kwara

Ebenezer Alabi, a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, dump party over alleged extortion

Hajia Monsurat Folorunsho, a PDP woman leader in Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara, said the party would replicate Ekiti electoral fortune in Kwara come 2015.

Folorunsho said this at the inauguration of the party’s secretariat in Akerebiata on Thursday.

She said that the women in the council had begun a “house-to-house public enlightenment” on the party’s welfare packages.

The women leader also said that the large number of people that turned out for the event showed that PDP was widely accepted in the area.

She appealed to all PDP women in the state to also embark aggressive campaigns for the party to achieve success in the 2015 elections.

The PDP Deputy Chairman in the state, Alhaji Attairu Manko, said the party would win governorship election in the state.

Manko, who represented the state Chairman, Chief Iyiola Oyedepo, said it was the PDP-controlled Federal Government that had been sustaining the state-owned tertiary institutions through TETFUND.

He said the last construction of infrastructure by the government in state-owned Polytechnic, Ilorin and the three colleges of education was in 2003.

A visit to all the higher institutions in the state would show that all the new buildings and equipment there were funded by TETFUND, he said.

Earlier, the chairman of the council, Mr Ibrahim Abubakar, said members of the party in the area were yearning to have a party that would address infrastructural decay.

Abubakar, who said the people in the area were also expecting the PDP to provide potable water for them, gave the assurance that a PDP government would address their welfare needs.

He assured youths in the area of gainful employment.

Abubakar appealed to the people to continue to support the party, saying their aspirations and dreams would be realised under a PDP government.
